Dave Loew is a `cello player with a family history that reaches back to Victorian England, his great grandmother a star of musical theatre and his own parents showbusiness stars in wartime London who entertained troops right up to D Day. Dave was born in Kenya, where he began playing a half size `cello at the age of six, and it was love at first sight for the little boy and his instrument! He was soon winning local music festivals, but it was not till the family migrated to Sydney Australia that he was able to take up a professional career giving both solo recitals on radio and concerts as well as with orchestras. Both Dave`s family heritage and own long career with London orchestras, films, theatre and pop albums and solo concerts led to him creating his very own National Arts Records, which has now sold over 160,000 copies in England in its (to date) three album series. Throughout his career and recordings, Dave`s companion is “Gladys”, a rare and especially fine Italian `cello by the Italian master maker, Vincenzo Sannino of Naples. Together, the couple are to be seen in concerts, media appearances and album signings throughout the country, with appearances planned in European territories and overseas. Youngsters especially, love to have their posters signed by both Dave and “Gladys”! |
